If your Whirlpool dishwasher stops working, you can use the error codes list below to find out the cause and the solution. The error codes tell you what function and problem the dishwasher has. You can see the error codes on the control panel if your model has a digital display.
If your model doesn't have a digital display, the Clean light will flash in a pattern to show the error codes. The light flashes the function code first, then pauses for 2 seconds, and then flashes the problem code. For example, if the light flashes 6 times and then 1 time (6-1), it means the function is "Inlet Water" and the problem is "The electronic control doesn't detect water entering the dishwasher tub". The light will repeat the pattern after a 5-second pause. You can't use the control console when the error codes are flashing.
